About DeskGrowth
Train smarter. Hire better.
DeskGrowth is a practice game for people who work, or want to work, in customer service, customer support, and customer relationships. You play a shift in a made up workplace. Customers arrive with real feeling and real problems, and you answer in your own words.
How a shift works
- You choose a path: a hotel front desk, a payments app, or a software company.
- Each customer has a mood and a patience level. Patience goes up when you listen and take ownership, and down when you ignore, blame, or rush.
- You look things up in the records, use the actions you are allowed to take, ask the manager for what is above your authority, and tell the customer clearly what happens next.
- When you close a conversation you get a score across seven skills, and feedback that quotes your own words.
- You move up by passing shifts, with less and less help each time.
The Academy
The Academy is an optional coach. You can ask it questions, practise with a difficult customer, and talk through a case. It reads the words you type. It does not listen to the tone of your voice, it does not judge your face, and it does not tell you what you feel.
How scoring works
The rules are checked by the game itself: whether you stayed inside your authority, whether you checked facts before you promised, whether you protected other customers, and whether you finished what you started. When live AI is switched on, an AI model helps read what you wrote and helps write the feedback. Your score is practice feedback. It is not a verdict about you as a person, and it is not a hiring decision.
Everything here is made up
The hotel, the payments app, the software company, the customers, the prices, and the policies are all fictional. They are modelled on common practice, including practice in Nigeria, but real workplaces have their own rules. Check the real rules before you use anything you learn here at work.
About the AI
Customers are either scripted or written by an AI model, depending on how the game is set up at the time. An AI can be wrong or odd, and the game checks its replies before you see them. Please do not type real personal information about yourself or about real customers into the game.
Who is behind it
DeskGrowth is built and run by the DeskGrowth team. It is a test version today. It is free, and nothing is for sale. Hiring tools for companies are planned for later and are switched off until they are ready.
