Privacy Policy
This explains what DeskGrowth keeps about you, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. It is written to follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
1. Who is responsible
The person responsible for your data is the DeskGrowth team. You can contact us at the address shown by the person who invited you.
2. What we keep
- Your account: your email address, your display name, and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled form, so nobody can read it.
- Your consent: the date you accepted the Terms and this policy, and which version.
- Your invite code, if one was needed to join.
- Your play: the path you chose, your shifts, the messages you type to customers, your notes, your scores, and your progress.
- The Academy: the words you type to the coach during practice.
- Feedback you send: your message, the screen you were on, the workplace, and the type of device and browser.
- Use of the game: when you joined, when you were last active, and technical errors that occur.
- In your browser: a sign in token, your sound choice, whether you folded the test notice, and your progress through the guide. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Our hosting company may record your internet address in its normal server logs. The game loads its font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your internet address when the page loads.
3. Why we use it
- To give you the game: to let you sign in, play, see your scores, and continue where you stopped. This is needed to provide the service you asked for.
- To keep the game working and safe: to fix errors, stop abuse, and protect other players. This is a legitimate interest.
- To understand how the test is going: for example how many people play and which parts they find hard. We look at counts and results, not at private conversations as a routine.
- Because you agreed, where we ask you to accept the Terms and this policy.
We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.
4. Who can see it
- The owner of the game can see your name, email address, when you joined and were last active, how many shifts you played, your best score, which invite code you used, and any feedback you sent. The messages you type are stored so that the game can score them and show them back to you. They are not read as a routine, but they may be looked at to fix a fault or to investigate abuse.
- Service providers who run the game for us: a hosting company that runs the server, a database company that stores the data, and, if switched on, a network protection company in front of the game.
- An AI provider, when live AI is switched on. Your messages are sent to it so that it can write a customer reply, or feedback, or a coach answer. Please read the terms of that provider.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
Some of these providers keep or process data outside Nigeria. We choose providers that protect data with their own security measures.
If a company later invites you to a hiring assessment, that is a separate step. You will be told before you start who will see your answers and your result.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you delete your account, your account, shifts, messages, and feedback are deleted. Copies in backups held by our database provider may remain for a short time until they expire. Error notes are kept for about a week.
6. Your rights
- See and copy your data: press Download my data on your Profile page.
- Delete your data: press Delete my account on your Profile page.
- Correct it, object to how it is used, restrict it, or withdraw your consent: write to us. Withdrawing consent means closing your account, because the game cannot work without the data described here.
- Complain: you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
We aim to answer a request within one month.
7. Security and problems
The game is sent over a secure connection, passwords are stored in scrambled form, and only the owner can open the owner desk. If a data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will tell the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours, and we will tell you without delay when the risk to you is high.
8. Age
DeskGrowth is for people aged 18 and over.
9. Changes
When this policy changes, the version date at the bottom changes too. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the game.
Version 2026-10-19. This is a plain language text written for the test period. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before the game is promoted widely.
